Objectives: |
The course describes the standardization & principles of the UMTS Long Term Evolution LTE and the Enhanced Packet System EPS (SAE). It introduces into the principles of the new network architecture and explains the E-UTRA radio transmission, capabilities and limits. Finally, LTE and LTE-Advanced (the “real” 4G) are compared to HSPA+, WLAN, Mobile & Gigabit WiMAX according to the air interface capabilities, spectrum efficiency and market aspects. |
