Objectives

The participant will be informed about principles, network &protocol modifications and physical channels. The evolution beyond Rel. 6 (HSPA+) will be discussed. Several 3GPP Release 7 - 11 features, pushing the HSPA+ peak data rates step by step towards 4G requirements, improving the spectrum efficiency, enabling RT over IP services and leading towards a flat UMTS network architecture are explained.
